One place I love shooting at in Santa Cruz is Chaminade. We photograph a lot of weddings at Chaminade every year and there are always new places we find to shoot at. It’s one of those great wedding venues that has some cool furniture in the lobby to shoot with and outside not only has some great views but also some really good surroundings. It also always seems to have some amazing light near the end of the day on the back hill, I love it when the light is just setting over the trees and you have this killer light for some photos of the bride and groom. If you are getting married in Santa Cruz check our Chaminade!

What an amazing day Jon and Kara had at the Chaminade in Santa Cruz a few weeks ago. It was a really fun day with a great group of people, Kara had such an amazing smile all day long she was just beaming with joy! Here is a little slideshow with some highlights of the day. Santa Cruz wedding, Holy cross church and Chaminade

We had such a great wedding a few weeks ago for Sean and Karla.  Karla was originally from SC but now lives in NY where she met Sean and it was a great mix of Santa Cruzers and New Yorkers.  The wonderful Heidi Hughett from Couture Celebrations was the coordinator and really put together a great team of professionals for the wedding.  (as a side note, anyone thinking of hiring a coordinator just do it, it’s really a great investment in  your special day.  Good coordinators can help you put together a team of professionals that will make your day perfect.  There are so many vendors out there that might have a great website but not much else so a coordinator can really save you from some bad decisions).

Anyway back to the wedding  They were married at the beautiful Holy Cross Church (where my parents were happily married over 35 years ago) and the reception followed at the Chaminade.  In between we went over to west cliff drive for some photos of the bridal party and Sean even broke out the ukulele to sing to Karla!  Here are just a few photos of the day, the slideshow is coming soon:

We had a great wedding on Saturday for Sean and Karla.  Such a fun couple and another perfect wedding day! The awesome team at Couture Celebrations, Heidi and Lia were the coordinators and they really put together a great day for Sean and Karla (check out their blog here).  The flowers were just amazing, bold color everywhere and the reception at Chaminade in Santa Cruz looked so perfect!  The wedding was at Holy Cross church which is such a beautiful church.  Sean is Irish so they had a bagpipe playing as everyone walked into the church.  After the ceremony we had lots of time to head down to west cliff drive for some photos of the bridal party and Sean playing the ukulele for Karla.  After that we headed over to the Chaminade for the cocktail hour with a fun mariachi band playing and then Music Now started off the festivities.  It turned out to be such a great day, thanks guys for having me as a part of the day!!!
