Looking back at our first wedding photography blog

Sometimes I love to pull up the archives and take a trip down memory lane.
One of the coolest things about blogging is it also serves as somewhat of a memory book for me. I write about some big personal milestones in my life, share my artwork and sometimes love to look back and remember. I can’t believe that I have been blogging for my business for over 5 years now! It feel like just yesterday when I was reading on a photo forum by Gary Fong all about blogging and what a great way it was to share your work. He had a blog on xanga.com so I quickly signed up and started sharing my recent weddings and other shoots.
Here is a little view of what it looked like. Pretty funny to look through some of the old posts, you can see the archives and our first few posts here:

For back then it was decent but didn’t allow for much customization. After a few years we briefly moved over to a blogger.com blog which let you create a more personalized blog but still it didn’t match the look and feel of our main website. Then about two and a half years ago we started this blog which has had some minor style revisions over the years but has worked really well for us. Although I try to update it 3 times a week at least with some new images for everyone to enjoy sometimes I do get wrapped up with everything else and don’t hit my target but do have new weekly content. As my style has really evolved over the years though I finally felt it was time for a pretty major refresh of all of our branding. And since the blog is really the one thing that gets the most traffic and visibility I thought I would start here first. Over the new few months look for some pretty awesome updates to our blog and then our main website. It’s going to be much more fun and vibrant to match our style and I am really looking forward to it. Might throw up some hints and sneak peeks over the next few days so stay tuned.
