What a busy summer

Wow, labor day is almost here! Crazy, I remember when we had all of those cold (for Ca cold is under 70 days back in April and May wishing for summer to be here and now it’s almost done. We have had some really fun shoots lately and will post a ton of images over the next week. But in the meantime here is a quick image from a very cool portrait shoot at one of my favorite places, Hawaii. Hawaii is one of those spots that I just love and can never get enough of, the tropical air, warm water, soft sand, the list goes on and on. So much beauty there and to photograph portraits (or weddings) on the Islands is just always a special treat for me. Check back soon for lots of images!

Reel Life Engagement Shoot

Some of you may know Carrie, she has helped me out for a few years at weddings and also been an amazing behind the scenes help editing weddings and helping with a lot of the office tasks that happen. Carrie is just super sweet, always great to have around and I was so excited for her when she told me that she was engaged. I have got to know her family over the years and they are a great bunch, and when I say bunch they really are a crew with 6 kids in the family! The wedding is tomorrow and I can’t wait, I know it is going to be a wonderful celebration of love and am excited for the two of you to start your new lives together.

For their engagement session awhile back we got to shoot at a little makeshift carnival at the side of the mall. Although the carnival wasn’t what I envisioned, there were a few interesting carnies there and we pretty much had the place to ourselves so was perfect for running around and having some fun shooting. Here is a little Reel Life video of their shoot.

Congrats Don and Jayne – Chaminade Wedding

Don and Jayne were married at the beautiful Chaminade resort in Santa Cruz. Such an amazing day for the two of them, it was a perfect and clear day in Santa Cruz with a great group of their family and friends. People came from all over the country and world to be a part of their day and it couldn’t have turned out any better. Thanks for having us as a part of your day!

Sunol Valley Golf Course

Last weekend during the dinnertime at our wedding in Los Gatos we were hanging out with the awesome DJ’s – Dan and Cassie from Los Gatos DJ and aside from Dan and I talking about how much we love our iPhone 4’s we got to chatting about a wedding we worked together last year that had one of the best bridal party intro’s. The bridal party was announced in to “I gotta feeling”. It’s a great song and I have seen a few other people use it on their wedding day but this bridal party took it to a whole new level. They were so excited the energy of the room really just pumped everyone up, it was electric just like being on the first row of a concert. Hard to explain with words, but it was truly awesome. They had never seen the photos from the wedding so yesterday I looked for the slideshow here and realized I never posted a slideshow of the day. It’s been awhile

I know it’s been awhile, sorry to all of my blog readers. I haven’t been neglecting you on purpose it’s just been a crazy few weeks. We have been able to capture some amazing moments the last month at some really great weddings. We have worked with some great families this summer so far and at some of our favorite venues around the bay area. Congrats to Alexis and John who were married at the beautiful Ranch Golf Club in San Jose. The Ranch is a wonderful spot for a wedding in San Jose, it sits above the city and has amazing views of the city lights at night and some really cool architecture and landscape to photograph. Alexis and John are such a fun couple and their day really did turn out perfect. Thanks for having me as a part of your day!

Collages.net interview

I was so excited awhile back when collages.net called me wanting to do an interview about me and my photography. When you put all of your heart into your work it feels so good to have it recognized by other people in your industry, although it does still feel a little bit strange. Over the last few years we have been featured on a few different industry vendors websites, have had images of ours used in their marketing and promo material and it’s always so exciting but still surreal. I remember last year the company that we do our slideshows through wanted to use a recent slideshow of ours as a demo and also a few photos from that on their postcards and marketing material. They did a huge marketing blitz and for a few months I kept seeing my photos every few days in emails or mailers, it was strange but definitely awesome.

Kohl Mansion Wedding

What a great wedding at Kohl mansion we had awhile back. If you haven’t ever been to Kohl mansion in Burlingame you have to check it out it really is a amazing place and just the perfect spot to have a wedding.
