Congrats tina and dan

Tina and Dan were marked yesterday at Testarossa vineyards in Los Gatos. It was a beautiful day, perfect weather and a wonderful group of family and friends. They were married in the wine cave at Testarossa, such a romantic place to have your ceremony. Everything about the location just reminds me of a small Italian vineyard there is so much charm out there. Congrata again guys you looked great on your day!

I wish everyone a wonderful Sunday and hope you can all spend some time with your loved ones.

Finally a cooler day!

I am so happy today is a much cooler day, yesterday was in the 100’s and it seemed to never cool down.  Today I woke up around 7:00 and went outside to be greeted by a nice chill, oh how good that felt.  I was finally able to get a  good run in today without overheating.  I signed up for the Big Sur half marathon in November so need to get in shape and start running longer distances.  Today I did about 3.5 miles and it felt really good, I think on Monday I will have to push it up to 6 miles.  Anyone that wants to join me for the Bur Sur race let me know, the more the merrier.

While on my run I usually listen to some good music or audiobooks and got thinking about dreams.  Why is it that kids have such huge dreams but when they are older those dreams fade away?  Think about it, most kids when asked what they would like to do with their lives say something like a Astronaut, President, Photographer :)  but when they are older those dreams fade away.    Life can try and beat us down but should never get in the way of our dreams.  Take a minute today to think about what you dreamed about being when you were a child and then think how you can still attain that dream today.  There is really nothing in the way of you obtaining your dream other than yourself.

Im off to a wedding at one of my favorite locations, Testorossa Vineyards in Los Gatos and hope everyone has a great long weekend!!!

An amazing wedding at Leal Vineyards in Hollister

We have photographed many good weddings at Leal Vineyards and Brian and Keri’s wedding was really amazing.  Leal has been adding on to the venue over the years and is really looking good, since the last time I was out there they built a nice wine cave and a garden area in between the two main houses.  If you are looking for a nice Vineyard wedding check out Leal.

Brian and Keri’s wedding turned out so perfect.  What a cute couple and a fun group of people.  We captured some great moments of the day and some beautiful portraits of the two of them.  They planned a good hour of photos for just the two of them after the ceremony and it was so nice to take some time to walk around the property and capture some good portraits of them.  I’ll post a slideshow later but here are just a few of my fav’s:

Movie Review

One of the things I love to do when I have free time (right now during the summer there really isn’t any free time but I try and get away from the office at least once a month) is watch movies.  Being a photographer I always over analyze how the film was shot and am a pretty harsh critic.  For a movie to get my full approval it has to be very good.  I am going to start to post movie reviews and  hopefully save some of you from seeing some of the Garbage that is out there.  Last night I went and saw Tropic Thunder with Ben Stiller.

Overall I give this movie a 1 out of 5 stars.  It has some actors that I love and I think had the potential to be a pretty funny movie.  I really liked the idea of the movie and it has a great chance to really poke fun at hollywood, I thought the concept was good and the trailer for the movie looked pretty good.  But the movie really fell short there were a few funny parts but they were few and far between and there was too much fowl language and vulgarity that I thought wasn’t needed at all.  I think a good comedy doesn’t need to be throwing F-Bombs left and right for it to be funny and there was too much vulgarity for my taste.   Even though it was about a war movie I think some of the profanity was just thrown in there to try and be funny and it really turned me off to the whole movie.

On a side note my favorite comedy on TV has just been released on iTunes last week and I was so happy.

I got hooked on Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO when it first came out and every since season 1 I have to rent the DVD episodes once they come out.  It is a comedy about Larry David (the creator of Seinfield) and he plays himself living in LA as a producer.  He always gets himself into these crazy situations, it really reminds me of some of the seinfield situations, just really random things that come up.  Since it is on HBO sometimes there is some nasty language, but I think it is a really good comedy.  If you haven’t seen it yet rent season 1 (or check out the last season on iTunes).
